Homemade Lasagna

LASAGNA

Ingredients:

  • Lasagna Noodles - 500g
  • Ground Beef - 450g
  • Small Onion - 1 (Chopped)
  • Garlic - 2 Cloves (minced)
  • Crushed Tomatoes - 700g
  • Tomato Paste - 340g
  • 2Tomato Sauce - 340g
  • Sugar - 2 Teaspoons
  • Dried Basil - 2 Teaspoons
  • Salt - 1 Teaspoon
  • Dried Oregano - 1 Teaspoon
  • Black Pepper - 1/2 Teaspoon
  • Ricotta Cheese - 3 Cups
  • Egg - 1
  • Shredded Mozzarella Cheese - 3 Cups
  • Grated Parmesan Cheese - 3/4 Cup

Instructions:

Step 1:
Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Step 2:
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Add chopped onions and garlic and sauté until they're tender.

Step 3:
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, sugar, basil, salt, oregano, and black pepper. Simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 4:
In a separate bowl, mix the ricotta cheese with the egg.

Step 5:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 6:
To assemble the lasagna, spread a small amount of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Place three cooked lasagna noodles on top of the sauce.

Step 7:
Add a layer of the ricotta cheese mixture, followed by a layer of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

Step 8:
Repeat the layers: meat sauce, noodles, ricotta cheese mixture, and cheese. Continue until you run out of ingredients, finishing with a layer of meat sauce and a generous amount of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.

Step 9:
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Step 10:
Let the lasagna rest for 10-15 minutes before serving. This allows it to set and makes it easier to cut into portions.
